Michael Nagel- President and Chief Executive Officer

Michael Nagel joined Vomaris Innovations as President and CEO in February 2012. Nagel brings more than 26 years of sales and marketing experience in the medical device industry. Prior to Vomaris, Nagel served as Chief Commercial Officer at Neomend and oversaw the commercial launch of PMA device ProGEL. While at Neomend, Nagel guided ProGEL to rapid sales growth to over 1,200 hospitals. Nagel also served as co–founder and Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Vascular Solutions (VASC). He helped take Vascular Solutions from inception to IPO within 39 months and led the launch of a novel, biological vascular closure device in the interventional marketplace. Nagel also served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Incisive Surgical. Nagel holds an MBA and BA from the University of St. Thomas.

Jeffry Skiba- Chief Technology Officer

Both Founder and CTO of Vomaris Innovations, Jeffry Skiba has more than 20 years experience in leading medical device development and commercialization of first-to-market concepts and holds more than 16 issued patents and 12 applied patents. Skiba is the inventor of the Vomaris Procellera® . Prior tofounding Vomaris Innovations, Skiba was a Manager of Technical Services at International Polymer Engineering. There, he was responsible for the research and development of expanded PTFE polymers and production methods. From 1993-1998, Skiba was Vice-President of Manufacturing and Engineering at Orthopaedic BioSystems Inc., where he headed the Research and Development of orthopaedic deep tissue implants and instrumentation. Skiba also founded JBS BioEngineering in 1999, where he served as President. Heading the design and development of surgical implants sector until 2004, he was responsible for the development of a urologic implant for type 3 stress incontinence, as well as a delivery system for Medication without Sensation Project for Eye Medication. Skiba also directed Manufacturing and Engineering at TriVascular between 1998 and 2004, where he was involved in the development of a percutaneously delivered abdominal aortic aneurism repair endograft. Skiba holds a BS in both Bio-Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration.

Inder Raj S. Makin, MD, PhD- Director of Scientific Development

Dr. Makin is an independent scientist and entrepreneur active in the area of Medical Technology Development. In addition to his role as Director of Scientific Development at Vomaris, he also serves as Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University School of Bioengineering and AT-Still University Schools of Dentistry and Osteopathic Medicine. Co-founder of Guided Therapy Systems, LLC, Ulthera, Inc. and Xthetix, Inc., Dr. Makin has been active in the strategy, development and implementation of medical device technology for over 20cs years, spanning the spectrum from “lab-to-market.” Dr. Makin developed bio-medical research programs at various institutes, taking concepts through feasibility, and evolving them into product embodiments, such as catheter-based devices for intravascular thrombolysis (Univ. of Washington/EKOS), transdermal drug delivery devices (Ethicon Endo-Surgery/Janssen Research Foundation), non-invasive and intracorporeal tissue ablation devices (Ethicon Endo-Surgery/GTS, Inc.), and ultrasound based image-treatment devices for facial tightening (GTS/Ulthera). A recognized scientist in the field of medical instrumentation and technology, Dr. Makin has published more than 20 scientific papers, chaired various national and international conferences, and holds 10 allowed and issued patents, with over 40 filed.
